A Passion to Play
Born and raised in Queens, NY, Deb Ziozis developed a passion for basketball early in life, playing for Jamaica High School before continuing her athletic journey at Queens College. Her dedication to the sport led her to serve as an Assistant Coach at her alma mater, where she shared her knowledge and enthusiasm for basketball with aspiring athletes.
Throughout her career, Deb has made a significant impact on the youth of New York City and Syracuse. She has coached various levels of basketball, including middle school boys and girls teams, as well as boys and girls varsity teams. Deb also had the opportunity to coach in the Empire State Women’s Basketball Open Division for Central New York.
With over 31 years of experience as a Physical Education teacher, Athletic Director, and Assistant Principal, Deb has dedicated her life to fostering the growth and development of young people. She considers her greatest gift to be the ability to positively influence the lives of youth, instilling in them the values of teamwork, perseverance, and hard work through the sport of basketball and beyond.
